Learning Objectives:
The learning goal/purpose of this educational activity is:
Registered nurses in all fields of practice will acquire an updated knowledge regarding breast cancer, including oncogenesis and epidemiology, risk factors, prevention strategies, screening guidelines, signs and symptoms, treatment options, and survivorship concerns specific to the breast cancer patient.
The objectives of this education activity are:
- Describe breast cancer oncogenesis and epidemiology.
- Define the risk factors, prevention strategies, and screening guidelines for breast cancer.
- Identify the signs and symptoms and diagnostic tests for breast cancer.
- Describe treatment options in the management of breast cancer.
- Discuss survivorship concerns specific to the breast cancer patient.
