Very informative. With the detailed content and the time it took to read and be prepared for a test, it seems like it should be worth more than 0.86 contact hours. I feel this online study would be better as a video with a lecturer. I also feel it would be helpful to provide visuals for the pathways discussed.

This was a very effective course in the information delivered and its organization. The layout of the information could have been more appealing, but content/organization were worthwhile. Thanks.

Material was very informative. This could have been better if a lecturer's voice was actually heard.

This module is extremely helpful to reiterate the importance of the statement, "Pain is what a patient says it is!" I agree that healthcare providers still to this day do not consistently and completely manage pain. I have had my own experience, as an RN with a chronic disease, that has led me through various medical settings trying to obtain proper pain management. Pain is extremely wearing on one's physical, mental, and emotional states, and managing it to it's highest potential is key to being proactive for your patients. I believe the ratio between patients who abuse pain medication and the patients who truly need the pain management is not important. The amount of patients who abuse the meds is minimal compared to the patient who should be given proper relief. Hopefully this module will open anyone's eyes that considers themselves to be the judge of how pts. feel. Only they know how they feel, and it is very frustrating, having to have gone through this process myself, when healthcare providers don't take you seriously. Pain affects every aspect of one's life. It is so important to be an advocate for your patients in this arena and to become knowledgable regarding all pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic methods that can be utilized by your patients. It is up to the nurse to be the eyes and ears for the physicians. Our patients count on us to provide them with some sense of relief. This module has a lot of great education in the different types of pain and their origination. I found the information very helpful to use in my practice and to educate others as well.
