Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. The following outlines our privacy policy:

The Information We Collect:

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the Nurse Oncology Education Program web site.

On some pages, you can request information or register for Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) and other resources. The types of personal information collected at these pages are:

  • First and last name
  • E-mail address
  • State of residency
  • County of residency (if in Texas)
  • Your role in the nursing community (nurse, student, faculty or other)
  • Birthday
  • Gender
  • Race

In accordance with the guidelines of the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC), Texas Nurses Association/Foundation Provider Unit is required to maintain a record by which verification of successful completion of a continuing nursing education (CNE) course can be made for each participant. NOEP, as part of Texas Nurses Assocation/Foundation Provider Unit, verifies participation using unique identifiers, such as full name and birth day/month. We use these identifiers in an effort to avoid the use of highly personal identification information, such as social security number or nursing license number.

We also maintain records of all CNE activities completed by registered users. This information is available for students to view at any time should they want in the future to review the course material or reprint their Certificate of Successful Completion.

On some pages, you can submit information about other people. For example, if you send an e-card to a friend, you will need to submit the recipient's e-mail address. In this circumstance, the types of personal information collected are:

  • Name
  • E-mail address

The Way We Use Information:

We use the information you provide about yourself when creating an account and registering for CNE to ensure easy access to these resources for you.

We also use this information collectively as statistical data in order to study usage trends and better tailor our offerings to the needs of our users.

Because we receive funding from the State of Texas, we are also under contract to report our statistical findings back to the State to demonstrate the effectiveness of our course offerings.

We use the information you provide about someone else when sending an e-card only to complete the e-card transaction. This information is stored in our secure database and is used by our staff from time to time only as statistical data to improve our offerings.

We use return e-mail addresses to answer the e-mails we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with parties.

We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our web site.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

Our Commitment To Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information

You can access your personally identifiable account information by logging into your user account, then clicking 'My Account' in the top right corner of the page. We use this procedure to better safeguard your information.

You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by accessing your account settings listed in the previous paragraph, or by sending us a request that credibly shows the error(s).

To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
