The course material was pertinent to the ongoing problems with smoking cessation and the effects on health. I am a smoker myself, who has made many attempts to quit, and found this information extremely motivating and a helpful addition to add to my daily practice as an RN. I love to educate the community in various settings to increase the community's knowledge regarding prevention and measures to control their diseases. I agree with smoking being a chronic disease, and as a smokeer myself, I am very angry that something can be so addictive that it controls so many aspects of one's life. I found this module motivating to quit, again, and helpful to maybe have this be the last final time of quitting...given all of the resources available. Education to patients is key to providing them with all the tools to manage their diseases and all the tools in preventing exacerbations of their disease processes. This particular module can be educated throughout the community from everywhere from hospitals and physician offices to church and school settings. It can be taught in individual homes by home health clinicians and in the group settings of AFC and assisted living settings. The material learned in this module can be used in the prevention of the young non-smokers and the supportive role for the smokers. Thank you. The only aspect of this module that I had a hard time with was viewing the entire slideshow and not being able to get to the exam. After several attempts and re-clicking on each individual slide in the task pane, I was finally able to get to the post test and evaluation. Some may find this too irritating and give up, but if you play around with it...it will work eventually until they fix the problem.

Nikki, thanks for sharing your thoughts. As a smoker, you can better relate to a patient's struggles; after you quit, you'll be in such a great position to help others!

As far as your technical difficulties, please accept our apologies. We made some system adjustments with the Nursewise courses last month and believe that the problems have been fixed. Thanks for your interest in NOEP courses - we hope you'll visit our site again!

Best,
Lisa W.
